Kathy Hoynes-Goree' - GREYHOUND STUDIES

Kathy Hoynes-Goree' was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and has been drawing since the age of 3. The very early scribbles were of people and animals and those same themes are found in her drawings and watercolours today. Having no formal training in the arts, Kathy's natural talent shown through and she won many Scolastic Art Awards during her youth. In her teens, her talents were briefly diverted as she focused on media production, where she wrote and did the voice over for a national syndicated radio PSA.

When she left her job in the banking industry, Kathy turned all her energies to a full time career as as artist. Her works of waterfowl and human portraits were shown in small galleries in Michigan. In 1998, she created Greyhound Studies after adopting her first greyhound, Winston. Much of her artwork has focused on the elegance and natural beauty of the greyhound form. Many of Kathy's greyhound themed designs are featured in a line of clothing and merchandise she sells via Greyhound Studies. Over the years she has donated her time and talent to create logos and designs for many greyhound adoption orgaizations across the country. Since 2000, Kathy's illistrations have been regularly seen in CG Magazine and in 2004 her illustrations were nominated for a Dog Writers Association of America Award. Kathy's artwork graces the walls of private collections across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.

Kathy's newest works are in assocition with Julie tenBensel of Chamo Wear, Inc. where her designs have taken a delightfully zany twist on the world of reptiles and she recently completed the logo for the upcoming 2008 Catlin Court Historic Home Tour in Glendale, Arizona.

In addition to her time at the drawing board, Kathy is a host of the Internet radio program "Greyhounds Make Great Pets" - now entering it's 5th year - which showcases not only greyhound related advice and information but topics of interest to all pet lovers.

Kathy currently lives in Glendale, Arizona with her husband Rory and their greyhounds Scotty, Dee, Remy, Harley, Beauty, Nutmeg, Blueberry, Huey & Bobo. Her work can been seen at many art shows in Arizona, California and Nevada and at greyhound events from coast to coast.
